1) Calvinism // Calvin VS Arminiu

The relationship between Calvinism and Arminianism is a long and tense one. I should know – I switched from a Baptist to a Mennonite church at that stormy time in my teens when I would argue about just about anything. Both myself and the other small posse of teens that came over with me battled this issue out for several years. From my original place on the Dispensationalist/Baptist side, I then slid over to Arminianism after a time, then on to Calvinism, then back and forth between Arminianism and Calvinism (leaving Dispensationalism entirely behind) for several years. Finally, I found my own solution to the matter – long after the rest of the youth group grew up and forgot about it – in the strange but oh-so-helpful doctrine of « middle knowledge. »

All this and more in my four-podcast series on Calvinism, Arminianism & Eternal Security!

You may also find the book which William Lane Craig contributed to, « Four Views on Divine Providence » to be helpful. As well, take a look at my early seminary paper, « Sovereignty and Free-Will. »
